| Abstract: | Since the 1970s, Mitchell Seligson and his colleagues and students have systematically surveyed the citizens of Latin America on their political views—specifically on democratic values and their behaviors related to democracy. Some surveys were also conducted outside of Latin America, and the number of survey rounds conducted per country varies from one to over a dozen. More details about the LAPOP are at http://sitemason.vanderbilt.edu/lapop/aboutus, and a listing of all studies by country and year can be found at http://sitemason.vanderbilt.edu/lapop/studies_by_country_and_year. The LAPOP Data Repository (http://sitemason.vanderbilt.edu/lapop/datarepositories) at Yale University contains (as of January 2009) all available datasets through 2008. |
